There is no scripture.
Yoga has no relation with Islam, Hindu, Jain or Christian.
But no matter what Jesus, whether Mohammed, Patanjali, Buddha, Mahavira, anyone who has attained to truth, is not available without going through yoga.
There is no way to reach the ultimate truth of life other than yoga. Those we call religion are companions of beliefs. Yoga is not about beliefs, it is a systematic system of scientific experiments done in the direction of life truth.
So the first thing I would like to say to you is that yoga is science, not faith. No reverence is necessary for the experience of yoga. There is no need for any kind of blindness to use yoga.
An atheist can also enter the experiment of yoga in the same way as a believer. Yoga also does not concern the atheist-believer.
Science does not depend on your assumptions; On the contrary, due to science you have to change your perceptions.
No science expects any kind of bailiff, any kind of recognition from you. Science expects only experiment, experiment. Science says, do it, see. Since the truths of science are real truths, they do not need any reverence. Two and two are four, but are not considered. If no one else believes, then he himself will be in trouble; From him the truth of two and two four does not get in trouble.
Science does not begin with recognition; Science begins with discovery, from exploration. In the same way, yoga also does not start with recognition; Discovery begins with curiosity, exploration. Therefore yoga requires only the power to experiment, the ability to experiment, the courage to seek; And there is no need.
Yoga is science, when I say so, I want to talk to you about some sutras, which are the basic foundation of yoga science. These sutras have no relation with any religion, although no religion can survive without these sutras. These formulas do not need the support of any religion, but without the support of these formulas, religion cannot exist for a single moment.
First Sutra of Yoga: The first formula of yoga is that life is energy, life is energy. Is the life force.
Science was not convinced in this regard for a long time; Now I agree. For a long time science used to think: The world is matter, matter is matter. But yoga had announced thousands of years before science discoveries that matter is untrue, a lie, an illusion, an illusion. Confusion does not mean no. Meaning of illusion: It is not as it appears and does not appear as it is. But in the last thirty years, science has got to take steps one by one.
In the eighteenth century, there was a declaration of scientists that God has died, the soul has no existence, matter is everything. But in the last thirty years the exact opposite has happened. Science had to say that there is no substance, only visible. Energy is the truth, power is the truth. But due to the rapid movement of energy, the substance is felt.
The walls are visible one, if you want to come out then your head will break. How to say that walls are illusions? They are clearly visible. Where will you stand if the ground is not under the feet?
No, science does not say that there is no substance. In this sense it says that what we can see is not the same.
If we drive an electric fan with great speed, its three petals will stop appearing three times. Because the petals will move so fast that the empty space between them will be filled before you can see. Before the empty space gets caught in the eye, a petal will come to the empty space. If a very fast electric fan is rotated, you will see a round circle of tin rotating, the petals will not be seen. You will not be able to count how many petals there are. If you can rotate more quickly, you will not be able to throw a stone and cross it, the stone will fall across it. If you can rotate faster, as fast as the atoms are moving, if the electric fan can be rotated as fast, you can sit on it with fun, you will not fall. And you won't even know that the petals are rolling down. * Because the new petal will come down before the time it takes to find out. Let your feet report that the petal has changed to your head, before it the second petal will come. If you do not know the gap between the gap and the gap, then you will be able to stand happily.
This is how we stand still. The molecules are moving fast, their movement is fast, so things seem to be moving. Nothing is fixed in the world. And the things that seem to be stagnant are all going on.
Even if those things kept happening, there was no difficulty. As much as science broke down the atom, it came to know that after the atom there is no more substance, only energy particles, electrons remain, electric particles remain. It is also not right to call them particles, because particles take care of matter. So he had to create a new word in English, the name of that word is quanta. Quanta means: even particles, not even particles; Particle and wave as well, together. There can be waves of electricity, there cannot be particles. There can be waves of power, there cannot be particles. But our language is old, so we go away as particles. There is no such thing as such particles. Now in the eyes of science, this whole world is an extension of energy, the energy of electricity.
This is the first formula of yoga: Life is energy, power is power.
Second Sutra of Yoga: Shakti has two dimensions - one existence and one non-existence; Existence and Non-Existence.
Shakti can exist and exist even in infinity. When there is power in existence, the world becomes zero and when it exists, the universe expands. Whatever thing, Yoga believes, it may not be. Whatever it is, it can contain even if it is not there. Whoever is born has his death. Which is to be, is not to be. What is visible may not be visible.
Yoga believes that everything in this world is of double dimensions, double dimensions. Nothing in this world is one-dimensional.
We cannot say that a man was born and did not die again. No matter how long we spend his life, again and again we will have to ask whether he will die, sometimes he will die. It is impossible to conceive like this, even to make the impression that one end is of birth and the other end is not of death. Far, no matter how far, the distance seems endless, but the other end is inevitable. One end is compulsory along the other end, just as two sides of a coin are mandatory. If a coin of the same aspect is possible… then it seems impossible, it cannot be. There will be another aspect! Because only one aspect has to be the other.
Of science, the second formula of yoga science is: Everything is of double dimensions. There is a dimension of being, of existence; The second dimension of non-existence is non-existence.
The world is there, it may not be the world. We are, we may not be. Whatever it is, it cannot be. By not being you do not mean that someone will be in another form. Not at all possible. Existence is one aspect, existence is another aspect.
It seems difficult to think, how will it not happen? How will it enter into not being? But if we look around life, we will know that Pratipal, which is not, is happening; What is there is lost in not being.
This sun is ours. It is getting cold everyday. Its rays are being lost in the void. Scientists say that it will be able to remain warm for four thousand years. In four thousand years all its rays will be lost to zero, then it will also become zero.
If rays can be lost in the void, then there will be rays from the zero, otherwise how will the sun be born? Science says that our sun is dying, but other suns are being born at other ends. Where are they born from? They are born from zero.
The Vedas say that when there was nothing. The Upanishads also speak of the moment when there was nothing. The Bible also talks about the moment when there was nothing, there was nothing, nothing was nothing. Being born from that something is happening and the opposite happens to be absorbed in something. If we consider the entire existence as one, then near this existence we will have to accept the existence.
The second sutra of yoga is: there is infinity behind every existence.
So power has two dimensions: existence and non-existence. Power may or may not be there, nor can it be lost. Therefore, Yoga believes that creation is only one aspect, holocaust is another aspect. It is not that everything will last forever; Will lose, will also become zero. It will happen again and again and again and again. For example, if a seed is broken, there is no trace of any tree. No matter how much search, there is no news of the tree anywhere. But then the tree definitely comes from this small seed. We never thought that what is not found in the seed, where does it come from? And hiding such a big tree in such a small seed?
The tree is then lost by giving birth to seeds. This is how the whole existence is formed, loses. Shakti comes into existence and goes into existence.
It is very difficult to catch the existence. We can see existence. So from the point of view of yoga, one who believes only existence, who understands that existence is everything, he is looking at the incomplete. And to know the incomplete is ignorance. Do not know the meaning of ignorance, ignorance means to know the incomplete. We know that we are, even if we know enough that I do not know, I still do. It is in us to know. Therefore, do not know the meaning of ignorance. Even the ignorant knows something. The meaning of ignorance - in terms of yoga - is to know half.
And remember, half truth is worse than false. Because it is possible to get rid of untruth, getting rid of half truth is very difficult. Because it seems to be true and it is not true. It also seems to be true and not true. If the whole is untrue, the Nikhalis are untrue, then it will not take long to get rid of it. But if incomplete, half truth, it will be very difficult to get rid of it.
There is another reason why such a thing as truth cannot be halved, one dies by doing half. Can you cut your love in half? Can you say that I love you halfway?
Will either love or not. Half love is not possible.
Can you say that I steal half? May be stealing half rupees. But theft of half rupees is complete theft. Theft of lakhs of rupees is also a complete theft. Theft of half the money is also a complete theft. Theft cannot be halved. Half the things can be done. But the theft cannot be halved.
Half! Half means that you are in some illusion.
So Yoga says, those who only see existence, they have caught half. And the one who catches half, he lives in confusion, he lives in ignorance. There is another aspect to it. The man who says that I am born but does not want to die. The man is holding half. Will be sad, will live in ignorance. Anything else, death will come, because half cannot be cut. If you accept birth, death is half of it, it is also connected. The man who says, I will choose only happiness, not sorrow. He is again in error. Yoga says, you fall into error only by choosing half. Grief is another part of happiness. He is half. Therefore, the man who wants to be happy will have to be sad. A man who wants to calm down will have to become restless. there is no way.
Yoga says ignorance is to leave half. He is a part of it.
But we do not see the whole! We catch the aspect we see and the other aspect is denied. Without realizing that when we have caught half, half is waiting behind, present, searching for opportunity, will soon appear.
Yoga states that there are two forms of energy. And one who understands both forms is able to move in yoga. One who catches one form, half, becomes inept. The one we call bhogi is the name of the man holding the half. What we call a yogi is the name of holding the whole.
Yoga only means - the total. Yoga means - joint. Yoga also means addition in the language of mathematics. Yoga also means in the language of spirituality - integrated, the total, complete, whole.
We do not call anyone who is an enemy of yoga; The bhogi we call the one who catches half and lives half as full. The yogi knows the whole, so does not hold again.
This is also very interesting! The catchers are always going to catch half, the one who catches the whole person does not get caught. Whoever saw that with birth is death, now why should he hold the birth? And why should he also catch death? Because he knows birth is with death. He who knows that there is sorrow with happiness, why should he hold on to happiness? And why should he hold sorrow also, because he knows there is happiness with sorrow. Actually, he knows, happiness and sorrow are two sides of the same coin. Not two things, the same thing has two dimensions, two dimensions. Therefore the yogi gets outside the hold, gets out of the clinging.
The second sutra is necessary to understand properly that there are two forms of energy, power. And we are all trying to catch a form. If someone catches youth, then one gets the grief of old age. He does not know that the second part of youth is old age. Actually, youth means the condition that is getting old. Youth means the journey of old age. The old man is not as old as the old man, take care, the louder the old man is. The old man begins to grow old slowly, the young man grows rapidly. Youth means the energy to grow old. Old means the energy of old youth, the energy of lost youth. There are two sides to the same coin. One is the door outside the house, one is the back door of the house.
Birth and death, happiness and sorrow; All the duality of life - existence-non-existence, believer-atheist. They also catch half-and-half. Therefore, both are ignorant in terms of yoga. The believer says that God is just. The believer cannot even think that there can be no God. But it is a very weak believer, because it is doing God out of the law. The rule is equally applicable to all things. If God is there then it will also have to be there.
The atheist is holding his other part. He says, God is not there.
But the thing that is not, can be. And to say so loudly that it is not, informs the fear that it is a fear of being. Otherwise, there is no need to say no. When a believer says that no, God exists, and is ready to fight, then he is also reporting that he is afraid of not even being God. Otherwise what worsens! If someone says no, then say it.
The believer is willing to fight, because he is holding a part of God. It is the same thing, whether you hold your birth and whether you hold on to God, but the other part is being denied.
Yoga says: Both are, are and are not together.
That's why the yogi also tells the atheist that you too come, because half the truth is with you; He also tells the believer, you too come because half the truth is near you and half the truth is dangerous than untrue.
The second sutra is: between duality is the expansion of power.
There is an extension of the same thing between darkness and light, two things are not. But we think there are two things. Ask the scientist! He will say, there are not two. He will say, what we call darkness is just the name of low light. And what we call light is the name of lesser darkness. There is a difference of degrees.
So at night, there are birds that can be seen. Darkness is yours, it is not dark for them. Why? Their eyes are also able to catch that slow light.
It is not that slow light does not catch itself, very bright light also does not catch the eye. If too much light is put on your eye, the eye will become blind immediately, will not be able to see. There is a viewing limit. There is darkness under him, darkness is also above him. There is only a small border, where we see light. But what we call darkness are also the characteristics of light, they are also degrees. The difference between them is not qualitative, it is quantitative. There is no difference of quality, only difference of magnitude.
Ever considered summer and winter? We understand, there are two things. No, there are not two things. It is very easy to understand from summer and winter. But we will say, there are not two things! When the summer rains the sun, how can we believe it is the same? When we sit in a cold shade, how should we consider a cold shade as the heat of the sun?
No, I am not saying that you agree to quit sitting in a cool shade. All I am saying is that what you are calling a cold shadow is a small amount of heat. And what you are calling hard sunlight is a reduced amount of coolness.
Sometimes do this by heating one hand near the stove and keeping one on ice, cool it and then put both hands in a bucket full of water. Then you will get into a lot of trouble whether the water of the bucket is hot or cold! One hand will say, it is cold. One hand will say, it is hot.
Now the same bucket cannot have both water. And two news is coming from both of your hands! The hand that is cold will feel water hot, the hand that is hot will feel water cold. Coolness and warmth are relative, relative.
The second formula of yoga is: life and death, existence-existence, darkness-light, childhood-old age, happiness-sorrow, winter-heat, all are relative, all are relativities. These are all names of the same thing. Evil-goodness….
There may be some difficulty here. Because it is very easy to accept coolness and heat, there will be same, nothing is hurt. But Rama and Ravana can be a little disturbing. The mind will say, how can this happen? But Rama and Ravana are also compatibilities, they are also not two opposing things, the same thing has to be less and less. Ravan is less in Rama, Rama is less in Ravan, that's all. Therefore, whoever loves Ravana, may see Rama in him. And Ravana can be seen in those who host Rama. They are similarities. So Rama starts appearing in what we love, which we do not love. People who see evil in Rama will be found, there is no shortage of people who see good in Ravana. Are similarities. Will depend on your hand. If Ram and Ravana can be kept in the same bucket, then it is easy. But it is difficult to keep. Good and evil are also distinctions of the same thing in terms of yoga.
This does not mean that you become bad. This does not mean that you give up goodness. The total saying of yoga is that if goodness is caught vigorously, then keep in mind, evil will also catch on the other side. A good man cannot avoid being bad. And a bad man cannot avoid being good.
Therefore, if you see the best man in a little rage, then the bad man will be found sitting inside. And if you search for the worst man from the worst, then the good man will be found sitting inside. It is very interesting that if we investigate the dreams of good men then they will prove to be bad. All good men usually have nightmares. He who saves himself from theft during the day, steals it by night. You have to vibrate Where does that second part go? One who fasted during the day gets invited to the palace at night, takes food. Dreams of lust surround him who was virtuous all day.
So if you give alcohol to a good man, then you will know who is sitting inside! Alcohol cannot make anyone bad. Alcohol has no such qualities to make it bad. Alcohol has only one quality that expels the other aspect. So often people who drink alcohol will look good after drinking alcohol.
I have heard about a man that one day he returned to his house at dusk. His wife was very surprised. His wife said that it seems you have come today after drinking alcohol!
The man said what are you talking about! I do not drink alcohol at all
His wife said that your behavior is telling that you have come after drinking.
The man said, O God, what a strange world!
He used to drink alcohol everyday, has not come today. But he used to drink alcohol, the good man in him continued to appear. Usually, good men hide within what we call bad men. And what we call good men, bad men hide within them. However, when a bad man within a good man acts evil, he does so with the excuse of good. If the good father beats his son's neck, he does not press straight; Principle, policy, etiquette, discipline, suppresses all these with excuses. If a good teacher punishes, he gives the punishment in the interest of the person. Even if a good man does evil, then he hangs on the bad peg. And even if a bad man does good work, he naturally has only a peg of evil, he hangs on to it. But whoever catches one aspect, the other aspect will always be present within it.
Yoga says: Understand both and do not hold.
So when the news of yoga first arrived in the west, the thinkers there were very surprised. Because those thinkers said, in this sum, policy has no place for morality! There does not seem to be a place of some morality in all this yoga. Those who heard the news of yoga for the first time in the West said that there is nowhere written in it - as are the Ten Commandments of Christians - Do not do this, do this, do not do this! This is bad, this is bad, this is bad! There is no talk of knots in this. What kind of yoga is this?
But science never talks about favor. Science keeps both things open. Yoga says: It is evil, it is good. And both are aspects of the same coin. If you catch one, then the other will be hidden within you. Understand both of you and don't hold on.
Therefore yoga is the transcendence of good and evil. Both have to be crossed.
Yoga is the transcendence of happiness and sorrow.
Yoga is the transgression of birth and death.
Yoga is the transcendence of existence and existence, transcends both, is beyond.
If you understand this second sutra properly, then many things will become easier to understand.
